COUNTRY CHURCH WEDDING IN McCOOK, NEBRASKA
If you know me, I’m a sucker for little chapels in the country.
I got the opportunity to second shoot this gorgeous wedding for Savs Photography in McCook, Nebraska. The ceremony took place at St. John’s Lutheran Church outside of town. The little white church was surrounded by gravel roads and quiet fields. It was the perfect setting for this sweet wedding.
Sometimes the ceremony can be overlooked when it comes to the overall wedding day. But to me, the ceremony is one of my favorite moments to capture. Just the real, authentic emotions that occur make me tear up every time. Here are some of my favorite shots of Riley and Grace during their ceremony.
Why I Love Small Chapels
Photographing wedding ceremonies in small chapels presents a unique blend of intimacy, charm, and creativity. The cozy atmosphere creates a personal connection between the couple and their guests. Wide-angle shots capture the entire chapel, while close-ups emphasize the emotions of the couple and their loved ones.
Small chapels, like this one, often come with architectural beauty, such as stained glass windows, wooden pews, or intricate altars. These details can serve as beautiful backdrops for ceremony shots or couple portraits. Highlighting these elements alongside emotional moments helps tell the full story of the day.
Photographing in small chapels allows for a deeper focus on the emotions, connections, and details that make a wedding day so special. It’s a chance to capture authentic, intimate moments in a setting rich with character and meaning.
